Terms of Service

Last updated: 27 October 2026

These terms apply when you use grip-mag.co.za or buy from GRIPMAG ("we", "us", "our"). Please read them before you order. They are written to comply with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 ("CPA"), the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECT Act") and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA"). Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any right you have under those laws. Where a term conflicts with them, the law applies instead.

1. About us

GRIPMAG sells magnetic workshop organisation products online to customers in South Africa. Our business details, as required by section 43 of the ECT Act, are on our Contact Information page. You can reach us at support@grip-mag.co.za.

2. Using our website

You may use our website to browse and buy products for your own use. Please do not misuse it: for example, by interfering with its security, copying its content for commercial use, or placing fraudulent orders.

3. Products

We describe our products as accurately as we can. Photos show the product, but colours and finishes may look slightly different on your screen. Measurements and specifications are listed on each product page. If a product you receive does not match its description, you may return it under our Returns & Refunds Policy.

4. Prices

All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include any applicable taxes. Delivery is R99 per order, or free on orders of R899 or more, shown separately at checkout before you pay. You will never pay more than the total shown at checkout.

If a product is shown at an obviously incorrect price because of a clear error, we will contact you before processing your order. You may then buy at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

5. How your order becomes a contract

  1. Before you pay, checkout shows your full order, the total price, the delivery fee and these terms, so you can review and correct your order (section 43(2) of the ECT Act).
  2. When you place an order, you make an offer to buy.
  3. The contract is formed when we send you an order confirmation email.

If we cannot supply an item after confirming your order, we will tell you straight away and refund what you paid for it within 30 days.

6. Payment

You pay through the secure payment providers shown at checkout. Payment details are processed by those providers under industry security standards. We do not store your full card details. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.

7. Delivery

Delivery is covered by our Shipping Policy. In short: delivery is by Aramex Store-to-Door to an eligible South African street address, R99 per order (free on orders of R899 or more), typically within 8โ€“11 business days in total from your order; we must deliver within 30 days unless we agree otherwise; and the goods stay at our risk until they are delivered to you.

8. Cancellations, returns and defective goods

You may cancel within 7 days after you receive your goods (the ECT Act cooling-off period). You may return defective goods within 6 months after delivery, and choose repair, replacement or a refund (CPA sections 55 and 56). Free bonus items (such as the Magnetic Wristband included with the Starter System Bundle) must be returned with the bundle on a change-of-mind return; if a bonus item is not returned, we deduct its normal selling price (R199 for the wristband) from your refund. The GripMag 3-Piece Leather Magnetic Mat Set and Starter System also carry our 30-day Never-Lose-a-Screw Guarantee. Full details are in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

9. Safety warning โ€” strong magnets

Our magnetic mats contain strong neodymium (rare-earth) magnets, and our parts trays and wristband also contain magnets. Please read and follow these warnings:

  • Keep away from children. Magnets can be dangerous if swallowed. If a magnet is swallowed, seek medical help immediately.
  • Pinching: magnets can snap together or onto steel with force and pinch skin. Handle them with care.
  • Medical devices: keep magnets away from pacemakers and other implanted medical devices.
  • Electronics and cards: keep magnets away from bank cards, phones, laptops and other electronics, which may be damaged.
  • Use as intended: use the products only for holding tools and hardware, as described.

10. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for the quality and safety of our products as the CPA requires, including under section 61 for harm caused by unsafe or defective goods. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for:

  • loss or damage caused by using a product in a way that goes against its instructions or the warnings above;
  • indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit or business, that was not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order; or
  • delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for gross negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.

11. Intellectual property

The content of our website, including text, images, graphics and the GRIPMAG name and logo, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy or use it for commercial purposes without our written permission.

12. Reviews and messages

If you send us a review, it must be honest and your own, and may not be unlawful, abusive or misleading. We may publish reviews on our website with your first name. We may decline to publish, or remove, reviews that break these rules, but we will not edit a review to change its meaning.

13. Business customers

Some CPA protections do not apply to juristic persons (such as companies) whose annual turnover or asset value is above the threshold set under the CPA. If you buy as such a business, these terms still apply, apart from rights that the CPA gives only to consumers. Your rights under the ECT Act and the common law still apply.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.

15. Complaints and disputes

If you have a complaint, please email support@grip-mag.co.za first so we can try to resolve it. If we cannot resolve it, you may approach the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud (www.cgso.org.za, 0860 000 272), the National Consumer Commission (thencc.org.za), or a court with jurisdiction.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If any part of them is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest still applies.
